This autumn, the University of Tartu Pärnu College launched a collaborative project with Effelis Bio, a sustainable Estonian laundry detergent brand. The goal is to support the company’s first steps toward expanding into foreign markets.

The project involves students from the Design Thinking and Digital Marketing programme with the task of analysing international marketing opportunities and developing strategies tailored for global expansion.
Effelis Bio produces biodegradable, vegan-friendly and highly concentrated detergents designed with both environmental sustainability and efficiency in mind. As the company plans to enter Nordic and broader European markets, cooperation with Pärnu College students – supported also by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – offers valuable insights and expert guidance.
According to Paolo Ramazzotti, lecturer in international marketing and the project supervisor, the collaboration benefits both sides.

Students analyse the most promising foreign markets for Effelis Bio, examine consumer behaviour patterns, and develop a comprehensive proposal for the brand’s international positioning. As a result, the company will gain a clear roadmap for entering new markets and communicating effectively through suitable marketing channels.

The two-semester project culminates in a marketing plan that supports the company’s international expansion. It bridges academic knowledge with practical application and offers students hands-on experience in solving real business challenges.
Pärnu College plans to involve more companies in similar collaborations, with updates shared through the school’s official communication channels.
