At the Estonian Best Enterprises Awards Gala on 1 November, the innovation centre Kobar – established by the Pärnumaa Development Centre and the University of Tartu Pärnu College – was presented with the Entrepreneurship Promotion Award.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications recognised Kobar as an initiative that brings together entrepreneurship, research and civil society to support Pärnumaa’s development, innovation and culture of collaboration. The centre connects local entrepreneurs, researchers, students and developers, offering a space to test new solutions and share knowledge.

Kobar is a joint project of the Pärnumaa Development Centre and the University of Tartu Pärnu College. Its activities are carried out in several thematic communities, such as HõbeKOBAR and the engineering-focused InseneeriaKOBAR. These networks support the development of regional services as well as the creation of new technologies, social innovation and business ideas.

The Entrepreneurship Promotion Award highlights initiatives that have had a positive impact on regional development and entrepreneurial activity. Alongside Kobar, the jury also recognised Kood/Jõhvi, the coding school run by the NGO Future Technology Education.

The awards gala brought leading figures of Estonian entrepreneurship to the National Library of Estonia, and the broadcast could be followed via the ERR portal and on ETV.
