Traineeship

Undertaking practical training provides our students with the opportunity to apply the theories learned in their courses in a physical setting. The general objective of traineeship is to support the convergence of theory and practice, encouraging students to learn from the traineeship and put the acquired knowledge into practice. More and more bachelor and master’s level students are using the EU higher education programme Erasmus+ for international traineeship. Participating in the programme guarantees a scholarship that comprises travelling and living benefits.

The students of the University of Tartu Pärnu College can participate in international traineeship for a period of 2 to 12 months. Within the Erasmus+ programme, our students can do their traineeship in 30 European countries that have joined the programme: 26 EU member states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey and Switzerland. Students usually find the companies for traineeship on their own, but may ask for assistance from Internship Specialist Getter Koobas (getter.koobas@ut.ee).

The traineeship may be carried out in any company or organisation if its sector and profile match the requisites and requirements of the student’s studies in Estonia or abroad. The content of the traineeship carried out in a foreign country has to be agreed with the traineeship specialist of the department and the company.

To apply for the international traineeship benefit, the student has to submit the following documents:

  1. Application for the international traineeship benefit (the application form is available at www.ut.ee/en/current-students/traineeship-abroad)
  2. CV
  3. Motivation letter
  4. The credentials on the command of a foreign language
  5. Tripartite traineeship contract
