On November 28, the 98th anniversary of Estonia's National University will be celebrated in Pärnu.
All students, alumni and employees of University of Tartu are welcome to participate.
PROGRAM
17.00 Traditional Torch Procession. The procession starts in front of Pärnu Museum (Aida 4). Please come a bit before 5 o’clock, so that we have time to distribute the torches. The folk musician Olavi Kõrre and the head of college student theater, Meelis Sarv, will take care of the music of the procession.
17.45 Ceremony (UT Pärnu College Library, Ringi 35).
18.00 Public Lecture "Integration as an Estonian Security Challenge". Estonians and Estonian Russians are still not satisfied with the integration of Estonian society. Some consider that minorities are not loyal enough, while others find that they have not deserved the majorities distrust. Director of the UT Narva College and co-editor-in-chief of the Estonian Human Development Report 2016/2017 Kristina Kallas examines the issue of national minorities as a national security issue and brings fresh information about Estonia's integration process and the challenges ahead. 19.00 Night Orienteering. The entertaining event is arranged by the Student Council of Pärnu College and the Pärnu Youth Council. Participation is free of charge. The Night Orienteering starts at Pärnu College. Entertaining orienteering takes place in 2-3 member groups (if you wish, you can participate alone). Children and pets are also welcome. The participants have to answer 10 questions, which can be found in 10 places over the city of Pärnu. It is advisable to pre-register for the event by the 24th of November so that we can take into account the approximate number of participants and the event proceeds more smoothly.
