Pärnumaa Innovation Centre Kobar received an award for promoting entrepreneurship
At the Estonian Best Enterprises Awards Gala on 1 November, the innovation centre Kobar – established by the Pärnumaa Development Centre and the University of Tartu Pärnu College – was presented with the Entrepreneurship Promotion Award.

Joint project Kobar of UT Pärnu College and Pärnumaa Development Centre was elected as one of Estonia’s best entrepreneurship promoters
In the competition for entrepreneurship promoters 2025, organised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, the Kobar innovation hub and the technology school // kood were named Estonia’s best entrepreneurship promoters. They will represent Estonia in the European Enterprise Promotion Awards competition in Copenhagen in October.
International cooperation
Among other things, the success of the college is based on international research and development, which is also reflected in the vision and mission of the college.
Research Centre
As a successor to the Tourism Competence Centre the college Research Centre integrates into a whole all relevant competences in the field – tourism, social work, entrepreneurship, service design.
Projects
Projects at Pärnu College range from tourism and social work to entrepreneurship and service design. Our scientific competence will be broadened to marine ecology, resource management and service economy. Projects enable us to engage in international cooperation with recognised universities as well as other institutions and authorities. Our projects are aimed also at solving regional issues.
